about me

Hi I'm Lexie! I decided I would add photography to my schedule freshman year because I thought that it would be a fun experience for me. Since my freshman year in high school, I have gone through Photo 1, 2, and 3 with the hope to continue to get better everyday. I would say that most of my projects have photos of scenes or are one object focused. I love taking portraits and photos of scenic views. I always approach my photography with the best intentions to produce some of the best projects I have ever done. Oftentimes I am unable to reach that goal and am really upset about that. I want to take photos of some amazing things but I sometimes feel limited within the space I am given. For example, my dream is to travel the world and take photos of the most amazing and beautiful places in the world. However, the time that we are in while also being in highschool I am unable to do that. So it now comes down to the ideas that I can come up with in class. I have problems with holding my camera still on long exposure shots and getting the right angle for shots. I also have trouble thinking of new ideas on how to shoot the shot. The question I always struggle with is “is this the best way you could take this picture and if it isn’t how can you fix that”. While shooting I always remember to be very thoughtful of what I am taking the picture of and to not get too much background noise. I had a big problem with this during Photo 1 and have learned that I need to focus on one subject rather than a whole landscape of objects. I am really excited to pursue my career in photography and learn more of the ins and outs of the subject. I inspire for my photography to be breathtaking and outstanding to viewers. I want people to have to take a second look at what I have produced and for me to love what I am doing.
