Berenice Abbott
Berenice Abbott is an American photographer, a central figure in the bridge between photographic circles and cultural hubs of Paris and New York. Born in Springfield, Ohio, she moved to New York in 1918 and studied sculpture independently. She moved to Paris is 1921 to continue her study of sculpture and later mastering in photography. Arriving back in New York in 1929, she was astonished by the built landscape. Before the Great Depression, she began a series of documentary photos that benefited publications and exhibits. Her work was added in many exhibits including: the Salon de l'espalier, 1928 and Fotografie de Gengenwart, 1929.
